I had a whole weekend update created in my head. Like a real post, a real recap of things, not necessarily dogs, like REAL things.

And now I can't think of any of it except these.

OK, first. Yesterday a line of thunderstorms passed through the area, western parts had tornado(s?), but it was a line of eeevil passing over, like the langoliers, but not really. It just looked that way.

These were takes 3 minutes before pounding deafening rain and hellacious hail fell for about 8 minutes, then tapered off into nothing after 15 minutes. (yes, I was at work...)

Looking South

and looking North

And looking UP

It was really frickin cool. I love some dramatic stormage.

I just found out that one of our best customers is being forced to get rid of his dog - an 88 pound male golden retriever who comes to us Monday through Friday.

So, if you happen to know anyone looking for a WONDERFUL dog, please reply.

There will be heavy duty screening involved, and meeting with his current owner.

I am heartbroken.

If you're into this sort of thing. It has to do with the other posts I've been posting re: animal control in Philadelphia

For those of you in the area who may care:

Hopefully the link will work.

I'm working on my end - contacting folks in powah etc, but since the "save" movement is grassroots, and all volunteer, your voice is valuable.

This is a MUST.  Make a donation to Planned Parenthood.  In Sarah Palin's name.  And  here's the good part:  when you make a donation to PP in her name, they'll  send her a card telling her that the donation has been made in her honor.

Here's the link to the Planned Parenthood website: http://www.plannedparenthood.org

You can donate as little as $5 online if money's an issue in 'these here times,' but just think of the sweet pleasure of picturing the flood of 'honorary' emails pouring into the McCain campaign headquarters.  Follow the suggestions below, make sure to click the 'donate online' section under the grey bar header 'donate,' and then "honorary or memorial donations' on the left list selection.  Sarah Palin's name in for "First" and "Last,"

Then, you'll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send the  "in Sarah Palin's honor" card.

This donation is on behalf of or in memory of:

==============================================

Name: Sarah Palin

Send acknowledgements to:

I suggest you use the address for the  McCain campaign headquarters, which is:

=========================

Name: McCain for President

Address 1: 1235 S. Clark Street-1st Fl

Address 2: ATTN Sarah Palin

Arlington, VA 22202

United States

 Feel free to send this along to all your women friends and urge them to do the same.  Get the word out

Writer's Block: Sharing Haikus

The Japanese haiku poet Basho once wrote, "Old pond / a frog jumps / the sound of water." Try writing some of your own haikus about the little things in your life. A haiku generally consists of a five-syllable line, a seven-syllable line and a second five-syllable line. You can also use any combination of ten-to-fourteen syllables.
